Photographer's Note

This is one of my favorite beaches on the island of Oahu. This beach is called Makapu'u Beach which is Hawaiin for "bulging eyes". This beach is along the Kalananaole Highway on the windward side of Oahu. It is next to the lighthouse which is a heritage site. This particular part of the island is part of a projection of land which is the eastern most point of Oahu and can easily be reached from Honolulu in about 35 minutes. The island rock in the background is nicknamed Rabbit Island. This lava rock beach is adjacent to a favorite bodysurfing beach. We watched the clouds drift by later that day and became so aware of how nature is the best kind of entertainment.
