Photographer's Note

Huntington Botanical Gardens is a magnificent cultivated garden in the Pasadena area of Southern California. The gardens are located on the estate of Henry Huntington who was a railroad magnate during the gilded age. The Huntington Library and Gardens is a part of the 600 acre San Marino ranch that he called home.
My photo shows a section of the desert garden which spans about 12 acres on the estate. This is a landscaped and cultivated garden and displays over 4,000 species of desert plants.
