Photographer's Note
Huntington Botanical Gardens is a magnificent cultivated garden in the Pasadena area of Southern California. The gardens are located on the estate of Henry Huntington who was a railroad magnate during the gilded age. The Huntington Library and Gardens is a part of the 600 acre San Marino ranch that he called home.
My photo shows a section of the desert garden which spans about 12 acres on the estate. This is a landscaped and cultivated garden and displays over 4,000 species of desert plants.

Howdy Karen,
Fine cacti view from the Huntington, for the contrast among the grays, greens, and red volcanic rock.
Having lived in my young adulthood in South Pasadena, I was fortunate to live near so many Nature gardens, museums, restaurants, theaters, concerts, etc....
