Photographer's Note
Lonely pigeon, midway between the depths of the subway in Los Angeles and the soaring height of the skyscrapers above.
(yes, we have a subway/metro here, although relatively small by other big cities' standards. This photo is shot while riding the escalator upwards. OK, I actually had to walk back down the stairs and wait a minute to catch him in flight)
This reminds me of the "Under the Bridge" song lyrics by the Red Hot Chili Peppers, written about LA.....especially the first verse:
"Sometimes I feel
Like I don't have a partner
Sometimes I feel
Like my only friend
Is the city I live in
The city of angels
Lonely as I am
Together we cry"
Lonely despite all the people and hustle and bustle around

I really like how you framed this picture with the round backlighted shape of the building as foreground. The bird add life to the concrete & glass world.

Another spectacular point of view and the story behind the shot gives you an A+ for effort. I appreciate your viewing the world around you for that prized shot no matter where you are, even on an elevator looking up! Congratulations.

Hi Dave,
This is probably one of the best shots I've seen from the skyscapers. Personally I don't find too much inspiration from them but your photo is so great that maybe I should give them another chance.
That bridge as frame works wonderfully - well seen! Buildings well composed and that bird there adding some life.
Only minor thing that you could get rid of is the noise in the sky. Minor thing but I tried to do a workshop. Have a look.
