Photographer's Note
This is an example of the dry terrain up on the Antioch Hills at Contra Loma Regional Park. The green trees are the California Oak. Some trees like these ones on the right dries up. Some just hibernate and turns green again at the first rainfall. Some cannot recover and finally die.
Contra Loma's 776 acres include an 80-acre reservoir for year-round fishing and a lifeguarded swim lagoon for summertime swimming. Enjoy these attractions along with year-round hiking, biking, and nature study at this Contra Costa County oasis.

Hello Andre.
I find this composition verry well balanced were the size of the big shrub in the foreground competes with the rich green colore of the vegetation in the back. Also, the frame shows (i'm guessing) well the type of landscape we can find in these types of places, but, because everything is the same color, I have difficulty reading the picture as a whole. sorry...

It seems to be a very unusual landscape with all the browns and golds enlivened by the green trees. I like the inclusion of the "withered" tree in the foreground. It points to the path that leads the eye up the hill. Very interesting scene.

Hi Andre,
Really desolated but beautiful landscape, very well captured. I like the way you used the withered tree, the hills and the roads to make the compo - amazingly balanced with so much "twists".
I miss some color saturation or at least contrast here - maybe that would render it a bit away from reality, but it's a bit disappointing its relative paleness.
I find something strange that you have a small area near the right tip of the fg tree that looks more sharp and saturated than the rest of the image. I would prefer that all the image had the same sharpness and saturation of that area.
