Photographer's Note

This might be the Three Sisters rock formation in the Coconino National Forest near Sedona, but I'm not certain. I tried to make a positive identification, but found this and another formation with that name in the area. This was taken while I was on Long Canyon Trail, part of an out-and-back hike from Boynton Trailhead using Deadman's Pass Trail as a connector trail. There had been recent snows in the area and, despite the cold (as evidenced by the snow on the rocks) and government shutdown, I thought it would be a good place for a morning hike. I'm glad I got there just as the sun was creeping over the mountains as, when I was leaving the trailhead's lot was over-full and other trailheads along my route out were overflowing. I'll be posting a few photos from this hike over the next few days.
