A view of Tower Butte on the Navajo Reservation near Page, Arizona. In the background the sun has also lit Navajo Mountain. Providing a sense of proportion, there is a car in the lower left hand corner.
This photograph was taken in late afternoon on a cloudy day from the Page Rim Trail. The trail is a recently completed 10-mile loop skirting the edge of the mesa on which most of the city is built. From where I was standing, Lake Powell was about 135° behind me.
