Photographer's Note

Nimmo United Methodist Church,
Sandbridge, Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA.

The church started out on 30 March, 1791 when Anne Nimmo originally transferred the deed for the sum of five shillings to the Society of Members of the Methodist Episcopal Church in what was then Princess Anne County. Its history is as colorful as the rest of the south's with ties to slavery, time as a civil war federal hospital and a cemetery that is a virtual Who's Who of history in this area.

This time (last time) I was more interested in representing the overall rather than combining it with the structure. Reality is more than just a single window on the world and every scene is made up of a multitude of details. I feel better showing the multiple views that make up a "bigger picture". It is closer to true vision and to the act of seeing but with better depth of field. The photos were not taken in any particular order or pattern. I did not try to make it perfect or match everything up. I did do some blending with masking layers but it is not very extensive and was only to keep the image from being too choppy to view.

22 "random" photos put together in PS7 for a total of 39 layers including an overlay burn ‘n dodge layer, a few clipped levels layers, and a high pass layer in overlay mode made from the blue channel.
