Photographer's Note

This one room school house from the mid 1800's Virginia is a log cabin structure. The original portion of the schoolhouse is hand made of logs and chinking and painted white. This school was made for the black slaves children before the Civil War. Thankfully, Abraham Lincoln and his Emancipation Proclamation ended slavery in America eventually. This building is boarded up now and the property is taken care of by an organization.
