The catcher for Western Washington University is about to throw to first base to complete a double play in their game against the Fighting Illini from the University of Illinois. The two teams were playing in the 2013 National Club Baseball World Series back in May.
Baseball season is right around the corner and I couldn't be happier!

una bella foto non facile da realizzare che coglie un momento molto intenso.
Sono notevoli non solo le espressione dei soggetti colti nel piano della loro azione, ma appare notevole anche la composizione e perfetta la messa a fuoco.

Wow, Gregory!
Amazing capture of this play, right in the moment of maximum tension for the catcher about to throw the ball. Sharp details, very good DOF (400mm f/2.8... I am jealous), but it's the intense expression on his face that would be enough to put this picture on the cover of a sports magazine!

Hello Gragory,
Good sport action photo, relatively rare on TE and not so easy to realize I presume, with a nice expression in the face of the catcher. Shallow depth of field and good focus on the catcher (perhaps that a sharper runner would have been an extra, but I understand that you were at the limit with that iso number). Interesting timing for posting it; I just read in the newspaper that they are changing the rules in order to avoid bad collisions at the plate.
