Photographer's Note
The baserunner has a job: slide as hard into 2nd base to try to keep the infielder from making a good throw to first base and getting a double play.
The fielder also has a job: don't let the baserunner do his job, and one of the ways to make that happen is to jump over the sliding baserunner and complete the double play.
The fielder won this battle. The double play was accomplished and his team won the game.

Well, i'm surprised by the comment from Gladys on this one. I honestly have to completely disagree.
As a huge sports fan, and a huge baseball fan I totally appreciate this photo.
I used to fly down to Florida from Canada in March just to spend time at spring training and take hundreds of photos each day.
So trust me, i know how hard it is to get a photo of the second basemen or shortstop in top flight during a double play.
and to do it during an evening game in less natural light is even better.

You know the baseball is not popular outside USA, but once I saw this sport game. Jason showed me this interesting sport show in Phoenix. Some later I'll post my photos from that match.
