Photographer's Note
Seeing our world from the air offers sometimes most interesting patterns. To the pilot (which is not me but my better half), this swamp looks like a butterfly from the air ... but maybe his fantasy goes beyond. Let us know what you think.
Champlain Valley is a wonderful place for pilots, easy to find your way around with lovely, sometimes breathtaking views.
Still plenty of farming going on in this aerea. But fast enough this also starts to change, fields are getting taken over by "MacMansions" (super-sized houses).
So let's hope that these rolling fields remain also in the future, for further generations. I really love them, so so pretty. There are plenty of farmers trying to make a new start - organic farming for example, or making cheeses. Even as a Swiss girl I must say: these cheeses taste bloody good. Try it.

J'apprécie les photos aériennes quand elles ont une bonne définition comme la tienne.
C'est vrai que l'on peut y voir un papillon ailes déployées ;o))
Très intéressante ta note. J'ai aussi constaté que certains éleveurs essayent et réussissent à faire de bons fromages au lait cru !

Hi Barbara, I like the geometric shapes in your photo, it's almost a mirror image and yes it does look like a butterfly. The colours and sharpness are especially good considering the photo was taken from a plane.

Hi Barbara,
Wonderful capture of the lush green Champlain Valley from your high prespective. I love how the narrow highway cuts a lovely ribbon through the varying shades of vibrant green. This is a lovely area with view of both the Green and Adirondack ranges.

das mag ein "altes" Bild sein unt trotzdem macht es noch Freude 17 Monate spaeter gesehen zu werden. Der "Ueberblick" oder soll ich veilleicht sagen "ueberclick" ist die hervorragend gelungen. Es sieht tatsaechlich wie ein Schmetterling aus. Na ja, die einen kommen nach Amerika und reisen im Wohnmobil als kleine Ameisen durch die Gegend und haben keine Ahnung was sie verpassen - im Flugi sollte es man machen koennen. Ich meine das ueberhaupt nicht abschaetzend! Ganz im Gegenteil, ich weiss ja wie sensibel Du darauf sein kannst.
Einen Guten Rutsch in das Neue Jahr, welches bereits fuer Dich schon angefangen hat. Bei fehlen noch annaehernd 4 Stunden!

I finally decided to look at your posts from Vermont, and look what I found! a butterfly! love it!
exclamation marks aside - fantastic shot and apt title, the intersting symmetry of the fields and forests do look like a butterfly, especially with the road just in the right place. I like a lot the lush green colours, I've always associated Vermont with a lot of greenery.
lucky you, the world from above looks fascinating :)
