Photographer's Note
Here in Wisconsin, we're seldom far from farm country, even in our cities. In this shot, I'm less than 2 miles from the nearest mall, but it might as well be across the state. There are farms all around, lights are few, and a hush quickly settles over the winter stubble of the corn fields.
I hope it stays that way, for our nature is near and beautiful here. But I confess to a bit of wistfulness and melancholy: Just out of sight is a sign advertising the land for sale as prime space for an office park.
For now, at least, the beauty remains.
Technically, I metered off the sunset sky here; shot handheld and in RAW, with the aperture wide open and my Canon 50 mm prime on; and corrected white balance, exposure, and sharpness a bit in Canon Utilities, then sized for TE in PaintDotNet

Hello Jim,
This sunset image, with so beautiful sky and peaceful rural landscape, is a good illustration of the rather philosophic note. I like the snow-covered foreground, expressive silhouettes of the buildings and trees, and in particular the colors of the sky. Very skillfully captured!
Best regards,

Hi Jim,
What a lovely winter sky seen looming over the iconic countryside barn.
The farm looks like it is enjoy a well deserved nap under the blanket of white snow.
Warm Regards, Tom
