Photographer's Note

This is a replica of the 1911 Wright Flyer, Model B; the first commercially manufactured airplane. It was constructed by Wright B Flyer Inc., a volunteer organization in Dayton, Ohio, home of the Wright Brothers. The design closely follows the original, but steel was used instead of wood for all structural parts. The picture was taken at the Wheels n Wings Heritage Festival at the Van Wert County Regional Airport, Van Wert, Ohio.

The sky was slightly overcast when the picture was taken at about 3:00 PM. The only post processing was cleaning up the extreme front of the plane and adding some sky to the left of the plane. I snapped the picture with an inexpensive hand-held camera, with which I tried to track the plane as it took off.

This is my first picture on TrekEarth.

Best regards,
