wow! a very surreal photo! I like the mood of this pic, with water seem to flood the pier, the clouds, and the birds also... seems straight out of a disaster movie... good shot

i like it. Simple as that, but as I'm in the mood for rambling here goes: i guess it's mainly luck with the birds but they are a nice spalsh of life, the sky is really interesting, because it's only at the top of the frame you can see "the anger" that makes those waves so great. The "light tower?" adds just enough colour to compliment the whole thing. Great frozen water action.

Can there be such waves on lake Michigan? You must have been waiting for quite some time to get this picture. But especially like the haze created by the wind. Must have been unconfortable but interesting!

The lakes can certainly whip up some strong "seas". We don't get them so much here in my part of the state. But this reminds me of scenes I have seen elsewhere. The explosion of water as it crashes over the pier is really nicely captured here. The birds are a nice touch since they seem to be scattering from that explosive force. The waves are very strong, too. Really great job.

Always have heard that lakes could be worse than seas during storm. Have run in problems myself too - but in much smaller lakes.
This is great storm picture!

Bit late getting to your photo, so many to catch up on.
Love the raw power you have caught.
Well done, good timing.

An amazing force is captured here. The greys and birds flying only accentuate the sudden and violent crash of that wave. Well done.
