Photographer's Note
Cheboygan goes dark for about six hours in 26 degree F. weather. It's a little after 10:45 pm, the wind is a steady six or eight miles per hour and the moon is illuminating the overcast to some degree. Traffic on the street tapered down to pretty much nothing, but it was hard taking a 30 sec. exposure and not having a car from some direction ruin things!

Hi James
An eerie mood captured here. It looks like a ghost town. I am sure all you can hear is the wind. I like the footprints in the snow and how the scene is devoid of life. It's fun to play with exposure lengths and lighting, don't you think? Anyway, I think you accomplished you goal for this shot that is no cars and a night shot. But I am not sure why it goes dark at 26 degrees F, please explain :)
Take care,
Tosca

very mysterious and foreboding image, I like this a lot... the empty darkness, eerie colors and ominous details (snow tracks, flapping flag, light pinpoints) add up to a terrific artwork. your composition is perfection and alive... wonderful, excellent
best regards.... richard
ps - I like the darkness, it is bold and real

Hi James,
Sorry!
It doesn't do over much for me.
But it does show how bleak the place is.
Which is no doubt the point of it?
