Photographer's Note
Second portrait of my cab driver.
I shot in colors and reworked the shot with photoshop in order to make it into B&W.
I adjusted the levels, selected my black, grey and white spots. Added some filters, red and sepia and eventually worked on the brightness and contrast to give it more depth.
I chose to present this portrait because of his hands, crossed over the meter like that. He accepted to pose for me, so I got three shots almost furtively. It is one of the first times that I dare to ask somebody I don't know to take his/her picture. I would like to do it more often but suffer from some form of shyness...
This might explain why most of the pics I took and presented are buildings, backstreets or nature... while I would really like to do more portraits, which is the genre I had started with...
I hope you like this version of my cab driver.

Hello Flo.
I think this photo is very well seen especially with your B&W treatment. I suffer from the same shyness that you have, but i have forced myself to address the issue and become more intimate with people to learn and get their photos. I like the contrasting angles in the photo. His orientation is vertical in the frame, but the background is tilted. This could be distrating, but works well in this photo.
Well seen,
Chris

Hi Flo,
I too have had the problem of approaching people, but now I talk to anybody! B/W is the only choice for this picture and it's come out really good. His expression shows a tiny bit of self-consciousness and you have created an interesting image. Thanks.
Dougie.
