Photographer's Note
It was very difficult, and almost impossible to fit in both the Brooklyn Bridge (left) and the Manhattan Bridge (right) into one photo - but I got it :)
If and when I go back to NYC in the next or two, this will certainly be a location to see again - well worth it.
The scene is shot from the Brooklyn side, looking at downtown Manhattan. I'm sure our dear TE friend Brenda knows all about this spot.
Perhaps not the best quality wise, but i just love the double bridges and of course the blue hour time of day, or should i say evening - as this was taken before nightfall.
Looking forward to one day exploring NYC in much greater detail, including Brooklyn.
thanks for looking

Ciao Craig
due località famose al prezzo di una...
Bellissimo scatto, un effetto molto originale e bello, come l'acqua e le luci della città, i due ponti con le loro diagonali, guidano l'occhio verso i palazzi dello sfondo e rendono molto armoniosa la foto.
Saluti

Hi Craig,
very well done for this stunning picture!
It could easily be used as a very nice poster with its elegant composition and great colors.
First of all I love the POV which settles you right in between two fascinating bridges and allows to capture some stones in the water to add interest to the foreground.
The bridges themselves and the city in the background have been captured at the very right time, when they are already lit but the sky is still full of colors. Great job!
Thanks for sharing

Hello Craig,
The blue hour and the twinkling lights help create a most agreeable atmosphere. The two bridges coming in either side guide the viewer into the scene toward the far shore. Well exposed with very good sharpness. There is nowhere else quite like New York City, the city that never sleeps!

Hi Craig
a shot that is so entrancing and one that I would have put down as a Lisa (delpeoples) image if I had not seen your name first. It is a glorious panoramic shot made all the more so by the fg interest and smoky waters. Beautiful image.
Have a good week - B.

Bonjour Craig,
J'aime beaucoup l'effet de la longue exposition dans cette composition, surtout au niveau de la texture de l'eau sur les rochers à l'avant plan. La ville est belle au loin.

Hi Craig,
The lights on the bridges and skyscrapers are glowing in the gorgeous NYC dusk. When I was in the city, I didn't think that it's attractive. Now, look from this picture, it's incredible.
Have a nice day!

Ciao Craig
Complimenti
Ciao e buona serata

Hello Craig,
Use a fish-eye and capture the world. With a lense like that you can squeeze a lot of things into one picture. I'm mainly surprised that there is no distortion at all. Maybe you did something in PP. I'm not so familiar with post treatment at that level. I know mainly how to treat the colors. It's a great view anyway and the light is really fine.
All the best,

Hello Craig,
I stayed in downtown Manhattan when I was there and just loved every minute. Consequently the time passed too quickly. Like you, I would love to return.
You have managed to include both bridges but, more then that, you have captured the mood of NY at night. It certainly is the city that never sleeps! The slow shutter speed has given us a very sleepy river but not a sleepy city! I love the mood, I love the city!
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hi Craig,
Long blue hour exposure righ on the water's edge. You are experimenting Lisa's style!
I had to check from the map how far they are from each other in reality. Quite a good idea to combine them. Skyline is impressive too, although this is not the most iconic angle.

Hi Craig,
Unique view! I would recognize the city right away, but not the scene with the two incredible bridges. I love the smoke effect you got on the water here, something I cannot do yet, and it has captured the colors of that sky and the lights of the bridge so perfectly. A wonderful cityscape, and I love the idea of the double bridges! Something new for me to consider in my own ramblings.
Cheers

Hi Craig,
Wow! This one's a beauty!
A photograph very much á la Lisa, taken in the "blue hour" with a long exposure and having a delicious mix of natural and artificial light, the long exposure also having a wonderfully smoothing and calming effect on the water. A fine composition with lovely light and colours, perfect exposure and stunning details and sharpness.
Fabulous!
Kind Regards,
John.
P.S. You say you had difficulty getting both bridges into the frame but your exif data state that you took this at 10mm focal length - you still had another 2mm to go at the wide end of that lovely lens of yours!

Hello Craig,
I never get tired of seeing my city :-) Great shot of both bridges. I'd be VERY impressed if you got the Williamsburg Bridge in the same frame, too. ;-) Just kidding...this capture is beautiful. I love the effect a very long exposure has on water. The rocks in the foreground are a nice touch, too. I can even see the new World Trade Center with the crane on top in the distance.

Hi Craig,
I remember seeing this before, and might I say...I'm just as impressed now as I was then! Yep, only one way to get both bridges in the same frame, the trusty wide angle comes to the rescue! :) I have a similar shot, but mine turned out nowhere near the quality of this one...and it was taken during the bright daytime, so it definitely lost some of this magical atmosphere you've gathered up here.
Such a great spot to take in the city, not to mention the endless photo ops, right? The long exposure smooths out the East river with a nice soft finish, making it look quite elegant...but doe's anyone really want to think of what, or who is there actually "sleeping with the fishes?" Don't ask questions, fughetaboutit! lol
Love the starburst effects on the lights too, making the bridge sparkle with life. What a city, and what a shot! Awesome! Enjoy the rest of the evening. Take it easy.
Cheers,
Jason

Hello Craig,
Wow what a fantastic blue hour well almost night shot. Love the effect created by the super slow shutter. The illuminated bridges act as attractive lead lines which takes us to the well lit skyscrapers in the BG. Excellent photography, masterfully done. Thanks for sharing.

Hi, my friend Craig,
simply a superb blue-hour capture.
This gorgeous view on Manhattan from Brooklyn, between both bridges, is really wonderful, I like the great effect of the lighting of the buildings, and the silky aspect of the water of the East River, because of the long exposure time.
The structure of the composition is very elegant and efficient.
A delightful photo, I'm never tired of to see this city.
Best regards,
Josep

Gidday Craig
Wow, 2 bridges for the price of 1 and probably one of the most beautiful views of this magical city that I've ever seen. I love the foreground rocks (now THERE'S a surprise ;)) and the misted water due to the long exposure makes the scene almost look prehistoric - except of course for the modern bridges and city lights. The colours are lovely and soft. It's probably my weird monitor, but the image is a little dark. Not a bad thing when I think of it, because it really enhances that sense of stillness and mystery.
Cheers,
Lisa

Hi, Craig,
Wow! Excellent choice of the point of view, I have never been in the evening time here. Original presentation of the bridges, perfect exposure, it brings me back to NYC.
Thanks for memories!
Yes, I went back home and I have got some problem with an adaptation after 13-hours of difference.
Best wishes,
Serghei
