Photographer's Note
Die Wallfahrtskirche Maria Gern liegt nördlich von Berchtesgaden. Die Kirche zählt zu eine der schönsten ländlichen Kirchen in Oberbayern. Ihre traumhafte Lage am Eingang des Tales zwischen Kneifelspitze und dem südlichen Untersberg tun ihr übriges. Die Wallfahrt zur Madonna von Gern entwickelte sich nach1600. Der heutige Bau wurde 1708 – 1710 errichtet. Die Kirche bezaubert schon von außen durch ihre Gliederung. Im Inneren findet man einen reichen Stuckdekor. Der Künstler war der Salzburger Joseph Schmidt. Weiterhin sieht man Fresken von Christoph Lehrl, die einen Zyklus des Marienlebens zeigen. Besonders sehenswert ist im Zentrum des Hochaltars das Gnadenbild aus dem Jahre 1666. Man sieht eine geschnitzte Madonna mit Kind. Diese wird im Laufe des Kirchenjahres mit verschiedenen prächtigen Barockgewändern bekleidet.

Das ist ja das absolute Postkarten-Motiv - und schöner kann man's ja wohl kaum zeigen. Die Lichtverhältnisse, die Du hier hattest, waren wunderschön (und schwierig). Winter vom Allerfeinsten! Etwas schade, dass die Turmhaube vor einem dunklen Hintergrund steht...

Beautiful shot of this great village blanketed with snow. The valley and road create a nice diagonal through the shot leading the eye to the V of the mountains. The spotlight effect on the buildings and distant mountain makes them stand out nicely against the shadowed landscape. The lighting and colors are great with excellent sharpness and DOF.

Very well composed image with the strong diagonals of the mountain slopes, encompassing the distant mountains as well as making an excellent background for the buildings on the lower slopes. Du zeigst so schöne Orte,die ich in Urlauben mit meinen Eltern vor sehr langer Zeit besucht habe.Dein POV hier ist exzellent und mir gefällt der Blick in die Weite mit dem tifen Wölkchen im Hintergrund.Tolles Licht auch.

it is a very beautiful landscape view! I am impressed by the warmth which is radiates with, despite the cold snow around.
Excellent composition. I like these diagonal lines which cross the photo from every possible direction, and this makes the photo very lively, very dynamic (along with the sunlit mountain peaks in the distance, brightly sunlit parts of the snow, the church and the houses next to it).
