Some people do not care what other people think, what they talk with each other or what makes them cheer up so much when they come together.
Some people think that, loneliness is not something to be pitied for (as most of the others think). Contrarily, it makes the path to the thoughts and contemplation about time, life, arts, science, religion and even existance.
Some people need little company of the others to survive. Unlike the others, they can keep silent for hours, and this doesn't even "hurt" them.
For some, being lonely is the key note to freedom.

Taken on the terrace of Old Post Office of Mardin. The stone minaret belongs to one of the famous mosques of the ancient city of stone. In the BG, you can see the endless plains of Mesopotamia, leaning into infinity...

Hello Deniz,
Your note well describes a lot. The picture absorbs the message, a good display of silhouttes playing part of man's individuality. Strong character in solid B&W stills.
Being lonely happens quite often to people, sometimes this puts us into another way of self realisation and start knowing more about ourself then caring next to another person. Freedom is one of the greatest happiness though it's a question of how we live from it and knowing what's going on around you.

superb effect with the silhouettes - i reckon you worked on the contrasts and/or curves a lot, and it paid off...
the lonely bird is quite symbolic, as if a small spying satellite sent by heavens...

'iki nehrin arası'nda kalınca o güzel coğrafyayı arasıra suyun kendisi değilse de görüntüsü basabiliyor tıpkı bu göz alıcı kompozisyonda olduğu gibi.

Hello Deniz! This is simply beautiful and your note rounds it up, makes it even stronger. I guess if you can be alone you are much more of a free person but it scares people a lot, just thinking about it, and it scares them if you do it, they feel uneasy. Personally I need both. I simply adore purity and simplicity of that composition! Static element of minaret in the contrast with dark silhouettes, including the most dynamic- flying bird -somehow transport my thought to the scent of magic of the 1001 nights fairy tales.. Alladin's neighborhood.. the terrace over the market with the flying carpets sale.. Dreamworld..

Çok güzel bır ışık-gölge dengesi kurmuşsun. Kuş mu kondurdu sanki diyen olursa "Tabii ya, Deniz kuş da konduruyor" deriz. ;-))
