Photographer's Note

The Cantalian mountain started its activity since 12 million years, the strato volcano reached at 5,000 meters high, its last eruptions were dated two million years ago.
After a spectacular explosion, only a few chimneys remain in a vast caldera of 75 km. The principal ones are:
Le Plomb du Cantal 1855 m
Le Puy Mary 1785 m
Puy de Peyre Arse 1806 m
And the Puy Griou 1690 m the first summet located on the right of the Puy Mary.
The activity seems calm, but let's not forget that not far from here flows a source of hot water of 82°C in Chaudes Aigues town.
