Photographer's Note

Kampong Tambatuon is a Dusun village that sits at the foot of Mount Nongkok, which the natives here think of it as the "son" of Mount Kinabalu.

It has been raining all afternoon and just like anywhere else after the rain, the setting sun just has to go with a little bit more psychedelic in its going.

This view was taken right after sunset, from a padi field with a view of the mountain under the sun setting sky.

Kampong Tambatuon is a riverine village, one in 3 along the Kadamaian River. The other two are Kampong Kaung and Kampong Kiau, with Kampong Kaung sitting on the other side of Mount Nongkok about 6 hours jungle/river trek upriver. Kampong Kiau is at the foot of Mount Kinabalu about a day trek from here.
