Photographer's Note
For your safety and comfort, we ask you to please remain seated with your seat belt fastened. The captain wishes to excuse to its readers for its ignorance concerning this type of aircraft.
I guess it's a Boeing or an Airbus… I couldn't care less, the pretext was only to make photography. There is another one in the WS, bearing the colors of our national shame: Air Canada - the lowest of the lowlife cabin crew that you will ever meet. I took more than 200 planes with twenty different airline companies, but never encounter such incompetent and rude staff.
They should all make a training session at Singapore Airlines.
Thanks to TE member Pierre Lacombe (placombe) who provides me with insightful informations concerning the best spots to watch airplanes landing and take-off at Pierre-Elliot-Trudeau Montréal airport.

Hi Andre, I've flown worse than Air Canada, but then I've never flown Singapore, but have heard lots about their reputation. In any case, I can't help you out with the ID and I agree, that's not what counts, it's the shot, and its good. I like this composition, with the in your face angled shot, the fuselage ties in very nicely with that great sky. Very nice colours.
And something I've noticed recently on some airlines is that they are starting to identify themselves to people on the ground. Air Emirates and Jetsco are both placing their logos on the bottom of the fuselage, rather than forcing us to try to look at their tail.
Update: oh wow, I just had a look at your workshop, I hadn't seen the new Air Canada colours yet. Yech!
Thanks, John

Wouhaou!!

Aviation pics are so infrequent on TE. I've tried a few in my gallery, but they don't generate much interest for some reason.
Air Canada don't operate any single-aisle Boeing aicraft at present (they are all widebodies) so this would be either an Airbus A319/A320/A321 - can't tell from this angle.

Salut Cousin,

Wow, I would never take a picture like this. The plane was to low for my liking. Due to my professional situation I have to fly in a regular basis but let me tell you something, I do not like it and I am starting feeling tired of flying. From my limited knowledge of aircraft the one on WS must be an Airbus something, because of the tips of the wings.
Both photos are excellent and I must say the main post is impressive and also frightening.

Bonjour Andre,
Yves.

Hi Andre,
Very dynamic looking from this angle and tilt. Toned B&W works well. Those lighs are good extra details, you rarely notice them.
I've never experienced bad service on air (except tasteless food and such of course). Not even on low cost airlines. I mean I rather pay for tasty food than free but dry bread roll. But I've never used Air Canada. Canadian once before their collapse.
(Looking at the WS, it's Airbus A319.)

Bonne journee JY

Hi Andre,
Air Canada, best airline i ever flew with. Great servive, beautiful cabin crew, personal attention, an extra blanket, a superb steak, always on time, best space i ever had, a great airline ;-))))))
Nice to see this, in one week you cross the ocean again towards all of us and we all looking forward seeing you again..!!!

Hi Andre,
a spectacular shot..seconds later you had to hide your camera from the jetstream :)
a low life line is better than a low cost line - they don´t fly at all...had to wait 20 hours at the airport till they told us that the flight is cancelled and it took me 2 months to get half of the money back..
Compliments, Chris

salut andre,
what a creative idea to desaturate the flying monster stripping it from any "humanity" and converting it into soulless, cold, unfriendly yet reliable, strong dragon...
i do like this image...
best wishes,

So that's what you do on your days off! Sit on the runway and take undercarriages of passing planes. Is Air Canada worse than Iberia? You have to beg on bended knees for a drink of water. As for anything to eat! - one meal on a 12 hour flight!
Did you read about our National embarrassment at Heathrow's new T5?

Hey Andre,
I think the photo is great (not a surprise from you), but the comment needs a little more precision. Is the cabin crew francophone? In that case, their rudeness would be more in keeping with traditional bonds. (Although I must admit that in recent years I have had nice experiences on Air France.)
Enjoy your next flight!

lol, andre, that's some harsh stuff in your note... i confer with henk here: the only time i flew air canada they gave me excellent service. kind and courteous... and the food was good too. but then again - that was 8 years ago... things might have changed since. anyway, i like your foto. you definitely managed to express your mood in the capture... a scary pic... :)

This is for sure not an Airbus, which is slender around the waist. Looking at Boeing, the 707/720, 747 etc is 4 engine. The 717 and 727 have the engines on the tail. Could be a 767, but they have 4 wheels per landing gear... And the 777 has 6 wheels.
As such it is a 757 or 737, and based on the length I'd go for the 737-500 or 737-600. 460 of the 5240 737's delivered are this type. ;-)
And yes, Singapore Airlines is just wonderful...
Greetings! Dennis

JB.

Have you ever flown Ryan Air? They are pretty darn incompetent, but at least they weren't rude on purpose, just oblivious. Love this shot. The monochromatic color scheme looks very cool.

I was completely horrified at the moment that I opened this image. There was this eminent impression that this airplane was about to come out of the monitor and crash into my room ....
Hmmm, only now that I get to know that Air Canada is at the bottom of service. You should have told me earlier. Now it is to late! My tickets to Calgary in August are already payed.
Quite interesting partial desaturation and blue filter. it gives a cold techincal impression and fits to the theme extraordinarily well.
Have a good trip and good meeting,
Peter

fantastico this shot, I´d like of the diagonal POV and monochromatic colors of image. This is a Airbus A320 family member.
Congratulations and hug!

Hi Andre, An imaginative POV & overall composition, the tight crop works brilliantly & gives the obvious feeling of being able to reach out & touch the plane, great picture, TFS, kind regards Wilson.

Hi Andre,
Nice fast capture, and frame, I suppose you used the multiple capture feature and this one here is the best among the other shots.
Interesting "green" tones applied creating feeling.
Oh btw, I enjoyed the conversation between you and Henk about the Canadian air lines however its not the best way to attract people to travel to Canada by plane, haha!
Many Regards my friend

Your PoV is just great, probably chosen with great care.
I love the metalic colors.
