Photographer's Note
Taken on a marvellous morning at Patricia Lake in Canada. As the sun glowed on more and more of the mountain I was desperately moving up and down the lakeside, visiting and revisiting all the foreground objects I had earmarked to photograph. This submerged tree route was my favourite of the lot.

Glorious light, great sharpness and the coolest of foreground subjects. I find the rocks sticking between the submerged roots very interesting and I'm glad that you chose this one.

Perfect reflection and glorious colours too. The view of the bottom of the lake and the stump there is great, adding another level to the scene. Amazing stuff!

This is an outstanding photo. The color and lighting are great with nice sharpness. The reflection is superb and the mountain seems to be floating on the lake. The fog on the water gives the photo a surreal feeling. The tree stump under the water add a great touch to the shot.

absolutely gorgeus shot, it looks just to perfect to be real, at the right place at the right time, its looking at a mirror and then faiding into a window and the colours the blues and oranges are amazing

It was worth the patient footslogging! Great, great photo that works in so many ways. Technically excellent, the composition, colours and lighting capture this landscape perfectly. And that's just the mountain and its reflection! The foreground subject just adds to the magic -it lends a sense of scale and a subtle shift in colour tones, and even a 'Lovecraftian' dimension to the overall scenario (I'm guessing it's actually a submerged tree root).
