Photographer's Note

Every ship entering Canadian waters bound for Vancouver must have a local pilot board the vessel in Juan de Fuca Strait. Most freighters arriving from Asia ply the waters of Boundary Pass, bound for either the Port of Vancouver or Roberts Bank Superport nearby. Many ships pass by per day, and despite scanning with my binoculars, I seldom see any crew members on deck. Over half of the ships are loaded with containers of goods from China to supply our big box stores. This ship is outward bound, about an hour or so away from the opean Pacific.
