Photographer's Note
The blockhouse lit by the setting sun.
Some historical fact about this park.
At the time of the colony, rivers were the highways of the time and the rapids of Coteau-du-Lac were a major roadblock. The drop was 25.6m on less than 13 km.a very turbulent passage.
The canoe was adapted to the rapids but came the era of flat-bottom boats that required the construction of a "rigolet" which consisted of a rock embankment set out about three metres parallel to the shore, thus forming a shallow yet navigable corridor.
During the American war of independence(1775-1783),the British build a fortified canal in 1779 to 1881.Thus the FIRST lock canal in North America was built. It was 100m long and 2.5m wide.and a draft of 80 cm.and there was 3 locks for a drop of 2m.

Hi Charles. It's beautiful, and the idea to use the tree is good, but I think you should be closer, because the left part of the tree takes too much place, for my personnal taste. And the little empty space between two branches on the left catch my eye and stop my sight.
However, light was nice. For my opinion, this is a good photograph but it could better. I hope that my small critical side don't vet you!
regards, Pascal.

Hi Charles. Merry Christmas to you too! I agree with Pascal that the tree on the left is pushing its luck. But the one on the right is great. No complaints about the light either. Good one Charles!
