À nouveau le bunker,cette fois-çi,en arrière-plan.
Nous sommes sur la rive nord du fleuve St-Laurent,à la hauteur des rapides.
Les voies d'eau étaient les voies de communication rapide dans ce nouveau pays.Les rapides obligeaient au portage,donc moment propice aux attaques.Le fort de Coteau du Lac fût donc construit pour assurer la protection des bateliers.Nous voyons à gauche la digue de protection du fort,au dessus du canal.À l'époque,avant la construction des barrages en amont,le niveau d'eau était plus élevé.Les bateaux à fond plat,comme la réplique ici présentée,étaient tirés de l'autre coté des rapides.

We are on the north shore of the St-Lawrence river,at the rapids height.
The rivers were the prefered means of travel in this new country.The rapids meant that you had to stop,so there was a risk of attack.So the Coteau du Lac was built to protect the boats and to keep control of the highway in case of war.On the left,you see the outer wall of protection of the fort over the canal.
At the time,before the construction of the dams,higher up on the river,the water level was higher.
Flat bottomed boats,as the replica in front of you, were hauled on the other side of the rapids.
