Town of Harmony

The second non-touristy part of Vancouver Craig showed us was Finn Slough, which you may remember from two photos my dad already posted of this community (#1 and #2).

Finn Slough (the second word is pronounced as ‘slew’ and is a wetland, usually a backwater of a larger body of water) is located at the bank of the Fraser River in Richmond, south of Vancouver. It is a small fishing community, which has still got about 30 residents who live in wooden houses. It was founded by Finnish (hence the name) settlers in the 1880s.
