Photographer's Note
The Porte Saint-Jean was built in 1693. It is located on Rue Saint-Jean and overlooks the west, in the direction of Sainte-Foy. In 1745, she was replaced by a second, more to the west. The latter was demolished and a new was rebuilt in 1863. In 1897, this third door was demolished to facilitate the flow. The current gate, the fourth, was built in 1939-1940

there have been a number of photos posted from Quebec lately on TE. Its making me want to re-visit this city...its been about 20 years since I've seen it.
Looks pretty darn good to me :)
Quebec City and Ottawa have a more European feel don't you think? love that stone wall, the turret, and all the people scattered about. excellent colours and lighting too.

anche questa città è piena di turisti, la bellezza del luogo lo merita, ma come succede spesso in questi casi, qualcuno eccede come il ragazzo che dorme sugli scalini a destra.

Elle a de l'allure cette porte avec cette tour au toit d'un vert qui se remarque. Effet intéressant au niveau du ciel et de ces bancs de nuages ou de brumes.

I found Québec such a charming and great city and one of the reasons for that was the walled old city. This is a great photo of the city gate, which you captured in a beautiful light and with a great sky in the background. Thanks for sharing!

A grand entrance and a great photo of it, the woman in pink really stands out. I would have thought this to be a lot over than it is. Very unusual light in the sky.
