Photographer's Note

Takakkaw Falls from the Iceline Trail at about 8:30 at night, about 40 minutes before the sun set. I hadn't seen anyone in about an hour, and I wouldn't see anyone the rest of the hike down. I both love and hate that. I love the solitude and having the place to myself. But I'm always more paranoid about bears and other animals when there aren't other hikers around.

Fortunately, I saw no bears, moose, elk, deer, or really anything larger than a squirrel. Just lots of beautiful scenery and grand solitude.
