Photographer's Note

The Opabin Plateau is a bit of a wonderland for hikers and photographers. It's right at the upper limit of the subalpine zone, so while there are a few trees, they're mostly larches and the views are wide open. So in the third week of September, you get some phenomenal color. We were fortunate to have three days of sunny weather at the peak of the larches changing color.

This is Hungabee Lake, with Mount Odaray on the left, Mount Stephen in the middle, and Cathedral Mountain on the right.
