Par cette fin de journée extrêmement venteuse, j'ai remarqué ce superbe ciel coloré au-dessus de la mine de stéatite à moins de 500 mètres de chez-moi.
La stéatite est un minéral très tendre, principalement composé de silicate de magnésium doublement hydroxylé. La stéatite est employée dans la fabrication de poêles et cheminées, à cause de sa capacité à emmagasiner la chaleur.
Le chemin de la descente dans le puit réflète les splendides couleurs du ciel. Les vents étaient tellement puissants et forts que l'aspect du ciel changeait énormément d'une minute à l'autre.

By this windy day, I noticed this superb coloured sky above the steatite mine less than 500 meters of my home.
Steatite is a very tender mineral, mainly made up of hydroxylated magnesium silicate. Steatite is employed in the manufacture of stoves and chimneys, because of its capacity to store heat.
The road that goes down the pit reflects the splendid colors of the sky. The winds were so powerful that the aspect of the sky changed very quickly, so each photo I took was pretty different.

J'imagine que la neige devrait arriver bientôt en Estrie...:-)))
Un ciel d'enfer.
Un horizon droit, l'idéal pour appliquer un filtre NDgrad, ce qui te permettrait d'avoir du détail sur la partie inférieure.Ceux-ci se fixe sur la lentille, reste à savoir si celà est possible avec ta camera.J'avais réussie avec ma Nikon compacte, suite à une conversation avec un vendeur chez LLLozeau.
J'ai fait un atelier pour montrer ce que çà a l'air.

Bonsoir Denis,
Le coucher de soleil donne de belles teintes de couleurs au ciel, il envoie aussi une réflexion orangée sur l'eau du lac artificiel et donne un jeu d'ombre au reste de la photo. le sujet est bien cadré. Un paysage qui donne une sensation de relaxation. Bonne soirée.

very beautiful clouds formation and color tones. Charles version is interesting but I prefer yours...it's more natural and the semi-silhouettes work better. Very good work!

I think I like this shot better as the sky colours are more saturated and vivid. All it needs is a little selective levels adjustment on the bottom half to bring back a bit of detail.

Hi Denis,
You did well to look out your window this evening to catch all these magnificent symphony of colors and textures.
The varying shades of gold are wonderfully flattered by the bits of blue in the sky while the winter ice catches a stunning reflection of the late day sky.
Just a superb winter composition.

That red and blue sky is fantastic and it's very well captured. The diagonal orientation of the clouds and the matching stream reflecting the sky below makes the compo very dynamic and very attractive graphically.

Hi Denis,
Very dramatic sky and so colorful! I like that the scenery is composed in such a way that leaves parts of the sky being blue in the nice contrast with the scarlet clouds. Thanks for the great picture and very interesting and useful note! (I thought that steatite (soap-stone) is used somewhere in soap industry :), but thanks to you I now know that it is mainly used as refractory ceramics.)
