Photographer's Note
I imagine that under the right conditions
one would be able to hear each step register audibly.
The sound of a woman walking in heels.
But all I could hear was the pitter-patter of rain,
rain slapping against quivering leaves,
rain dropping on the asphalt,
rain rapping against the roof of the silent electric bus.
I assumed that she would take the carriage
so courteously and patiently waiting.
But she kept on her way.
Gracefully,
steadily,
and in no hurry.
Almost as if she had said it,
I heard,
“I will walk.”

This is my fifth pic and final pic in my Rainy Day series. This will not be the last of my rainy day shots though. I've got a whole winter of the subject from what Vancouverites tell me! ;-)

I love the high contrast dark look you have given this shot, leaving the woman almost a silhouette against the street in the distance.
A good moody feel to the image.

Hi Alex;
Intersting theme you have going- and well chosen for Vancouver! hahaha
I like this typ of candid street shot. I do like how the woman is almost silhouetted, but by doing so I find the rest a bit dark. So, I hope you don't mind but I've done a workshop- and am interested in hearing everyones thoughts.
Keep up the good work buddy,

i like the darkness and how the light just allows us to see the silouette of the girl. nicely composed.
i wish i could do a rainy day series...maybe i can do a sunny day series? it's a lot less interesting, though...

among your Rain Theme,i chose this as my favorate!! although there were part of dead-darkness at the bottom, but it gave another effect,a view focusness on this walking woman and her two mysterious bags...( a bit lomo-look, i like:)
and after reading your poems, the rainy taste got heavier, that brought me to mind the song by Phil Collins:
another day in paradise

The darkness is just great. The modern, white car upsets the overall feel though. Still, this is very nice concept, well executed.

To me this is the best from the last three images with people.
The way the tram, along wiht the lines in the buildings and the light reflection in the sidewalk create a notion of perspective is very good. This is enhanced by the motion of the girl.
Also the uderxposure works fine here creating a dark, heavy atmosphere but still let us see some details in the shade.
