Photographer's Note
When I look at this island out along the West Coast it reminds me of standing alone through the trials of life. This island stands alone out at Little Beach in Ucluelet Vancouver Island.
If the winds were calm I am sure this lonely island would have a much different appearance. Notice the wind swept trees and rugged character that comes through. People who experience deep trials and struggles reveal a certain beauty that others will only see if they have experienced the same testing on their own. It may not be enjoyable, but its true enough that trials bring a special beauty to life. That is when the beauty of character comes through in its own special way.

This is another wonderful shot of the rugged west coast of Vancouver Island. I love this little island with the rocky shores and trees on top. You have captured a great mood because of the mist in this photo. Great composition with beautiful lighting and colours! Well done, Paul!

This is classic west coast, with that black volcanic rock, and the cluster of trees seeming to cover every available growing place. I like the sense of atmosphere in this, with the rocks farther away appearing more faded out - which gives this a good sense of depth. Well done!

Hello Paul,
What an unusual islet — with a topography that makes it a tower of sorts — higher than wide. The sharpness of the image (island and the growth on it) against the amorphous background makes this a most appealing shot. The note is also excellent!

Hi Paul. This does remind me of the sort of stuff I saw along the Oregon and Washington coast. I bet that small island gets some crazy weather out there. You might be able to up the saturation. tfs Paul.
