Photographer's Note
Please open both photos in new tabs.
Yes - here is yet another canyon and yet another waterfall! There are no shortages of spectacular ones along the Canadian Rockies.
This one is Maligne Canyon, near Maligne Lake. It carries a lot of wild water. In winter the waterfalls in the canyon freeze and groups are taken there for canyoning and climbing the frozen waterfalls.
In the workshop is a new version of an earlier photo that I posted years ago (hence why I have it in the workshop).

Hi Ian
Good motion blur of the cascading torrent of water. Excellent colour, sharpness and framing. The yellow green moss adds a splash of colour. Tfs!

Hi Ian,
It can be difficult to get a good photo of these deep narrow canyons because they are dark, and the much of the view is obscured by the canyon walls. But this one works well. The force of the water is well displayed, as is the sculpturing of the rock walls.

Hi Ian
I like the pov you chose enhancing the depth showing clear flow of natural movements and the dynamic energy of water and not too milky. The autumn colours and light are recorded to perfection.
Best regards

Hello Ian,
I prefer a faster shutter speed that makes the water look more natural, but apart from that it's a great view of dark rocks and colourful moss.

Gert

Hello Ian,
I am surprised at just what great aspects you have been able to secure of these waterfalls! Was this taken from a bridge?
You have been able to clearly show the narrowness of the rocky gorge, the massive drop over which the waterfall cascades and the rushing impact of the water.
I don't think I could be persuaded to climb this gorge, with or without ice!
Have a good w/e,
Bev :-)

Hi Ian,
The tight frame is putting the canyon ine evidence. The point of view is showing the details of the is section of the Maligne Canyon. The light is giving good colors output. Well done, have a nice day.

beautiful natural scenery. I like the contrast of the blurred water and crispy sharp rocks. Very good exposure.

Hello Ian, I can almost hear the sound of the rushing water, it is falling with such force.
The two views are very impressive.
The mosses look so bright against the grey rock faces.
Thanks for sharing, kind regards, Jean.

Hello Ian.
Impressive the narrowness of the canyon and with what force the water comes out, climbing those vertical walls is a great risk.
Very good color that increases the attractiveness of the image.
Have a nice day.
Very best regards.
Luis.
