Photographer's Note
Funny architecture for a cathedral... isn't it? But at Iqaluit, town of hardly 6000 hbts and yet capital of the territory inuit of Nunavut, built in 1971 this cathedral St-Jude Anglican evokes the traditional architectural form of the country : the igloo.
As for the remainder of the small city, it is composed of alignments of houses and small buildings, certainly comfortable but without much character.

Jean, way to go pal. You are certainly showing the world some Canadian scenes not frequented often, even by us here within our country. Our territories seem never to have a whole lot of attention, but you are changing this. Tres bon merci

Wow! I know the ugly building right behind that lovely church, because I live in it! (The 8 storey high rise attached to the Frobisher Inn) You did an excellent job to get down low enough to avoid it! Did you know, they are planning to do an expansion on the church and it will take the form of snowdrifts!
Jean, I hope you don't mind, but I posted another photo of this church as a workshop photo, which will show others what kind of skill you have with composition, because it gives an example of all the other buildings around, some quite large, which would readily detract from your beautiful photo!

Merci Jean !

Great shot. White snow, white cathedral and blue sky. Very interesting architecture. It is optimal for the cold climate.
Thanks for share.

a very cool and enlightening shot. the textures across the sky are fantastic. despite the predominant white colors you have plenty of detail in the snow and whites of the church. nice composition and framing by giving us a very atractive view of the church. nice work!

Bonjour Jean,

From the WS photos you really took advantage of the best POV as the city is really uncharacteristic. This is an unusual church indeed but a good sign of integration attempt. Or is it a good marketing policy to “sell” the religion into the “natives”?... The interior of the church looks quite nice.
Very nice colors. Still, I find the framing a bit tight and a more daring POV, like a lower one could bring more strength to the photo.
