Photographer's Note

This is an old smoke house (is it the wright word ?), where fishes were smoked. Shot on the Chemin de l'Ile, while riding on the Ile Verte.

L'Ile Verte owns the oldest lighthouse of the St-Lawrence river, and has 40 people living on it year-round.
This island is 2km from the south shore of the St-Lawrence (facing L'Isle-Verte, 16km from Rivière-du-Loup), it is 2km wide and 12km long. During summer, the only way to get there is to use the ferry: tides don't help, there are 2 departures per day.
Once a year, in the summer, it is possible to cross by foot during very low tides.
In the winter, it is possible to build an ice bridge that lasts for about 2 or 3 months, if the winter is very cold.
