Definively,this is the wrong way for this cannon to look at,as it is supposed to be facing the other way,towards the St-Lawrence river and protect the passage of the rapids against an invasion from the Americans,which never came this way.
Renovation are under way in the park and the cannons were moved around.

Ce canon regarde du mauvais côté et menace le blockhouse.Il devrait regarder de l'autre côté,en direction des rapides du St-Laurent,pour protéger le passage contre une invasion Américaine qui n'est jamais venu de ce côté.
Des rénovations ont lieu actuellement dans le parc,et les canons ont été déplacés.

Une bonne prise de vue de ce canon qui vise le blockhouse, on distingue très bien les détails du canon et du blockhouse. La photo a une très bonne composition, profondeur de champs et de belles couleurs. Merci du partage.

Mais je le connais ce blockhouse ;o))
Très belle composition avec ce canon que, lui, je n'avais pas vu pointant où il ne faut pas.
Le ciel est plus gris qu'ici où le beau temps est revienu après une courte période de fortes pluies.

Hi Charles. Good observation, the direction at which the cannon is pointed indeed doesn't look quite right. But it makes for an interesting photo and a good device to point the viewer's attention towards the red-roofed tower. Good contrast and vivid colors. I might have tried to step a bit further to the left and then have a stronger diagonal of the cannon pointing at the tower - or shoot from a lower angle for some further dramatization - but your version is also good. Have a nice weekend.
