Photographer's Note
While on vacation to the Gaspe peninsula, we cut through to go to Baie des Chaleurs and dicovered this old bridge in the city of Amqui.
Well kept with a new coat of paint,I thought it made a good subject.

Hello Dot,
Welcome to TE. I am hoping this site stays a bit saner than TL.
I really like the composition of this old bridge.
A very nice POV, colours and presentation.
The trees make a very effective natural frame.
Take care, joni

Hi Dot
Indeed those bridges in their bright red color are really worth capturing. Nice reflection and framing, though a bit of more contrast would certainly add to it

Hi Dot. I have read so may stories about covered bridges. The red is striking with good reflection and partly hidden by green foliage. TFS and well done. Regards. Jusni

Hi Dot,
Welcome aboard and what a fine image you have chosen for the occasion.
Love the red reflection in the slightly riffling river.
The lovely red bridge is seen in fine repair as it must have been restored recently as well as getting a new coat of paint.
Regards, Tom

Hello Dot
I came to know of these covered bridges from the film "Bridges of Madison County". Seemed strange to me, but perhaps such bridges are made in areas which gets lots of rain?! Nice natural frame with the trees on either side & the red colour stands out. I've done a small Workshop in Picassa, where I enhanced the shadows to bring out the sky colours a bit more & also liven up the greens. Hope you won't mind.
With Regards
Angshu

Hello Dot, friend,
your picture has the thematic interest, since i have a personal collection of the bridges in the world (stone bridges, iron bridges, small, big ones...) Covered bridges are the speciality of Canada (some of them I saw in Italy). Your position is quite new in comparaison of the other pictures from bridges in Canada, so my compliments. I am thankful for your charge and so glad to meet you.

Hello Dot,
Seems like you have found one of the longer bridges here!
Actually it seems like this one is so long they had to make windows to let in some light...
This is a fine point of view from the riverside, resulting in a composition with good lines!
Greetings,
Pablo -
