Photographer's Note
Waterloo, Ontario, St Jacob's Market.
The Mennonite is a community of christian anabaptist, originated from Europe in the early XVIth century. As they were among the first settlers of this region of Ontario, their community is still well represented here.
The old order of mennonites refuses most of our technical facilities, and still use carriage, horses and no electricity at farm. Their dresses are also very close to the XIXth century dresses.
Most of them are farmers around here, and you can meet them at the famous St Jacob's market, where they sell, vegetables, meat, maple syrup...

Hello, Clement. This is a lovely shot. Good subject, that wonderful bright red barn, the sheen of the horse. Very good detail and a nice glimpse into their way of life. Well done!! Shelly
