Photographer's Note
A.k.a Asa Wolverton House, after its first owner, a sawmill owner. It is a wood frame house, covered with plaster of Paris, a material mined in a nearby gypsum mine, and gave the town its name. The other local specialty, the cobblestones, are also represented in this designated heritage building, on the foundation and with a front yard decoration, which was under construction when I took this picture.

Hello Barnabas,
We get very few pictures where workers are busy as on these picture.
Again a picture that me do thinking to my Oncles 60 year ago in Canada also in Ontario, two brothers of my father.
Then we got always pictures with this type of houses, houses of them, I don't know!
Nice picture pleasant to look at.
Sharpness and clarity make these picture very attractive

Hi Barnabas,
Beautiful and stately home, and this is the first time I have ever heard of Plaster of Paris being used as a building material! Great note, I am pleased to know the connection now of the name of this town.
