Photographer's Note
Just returned from a weekend in Dubai.
I went to this mall like place to get a picture of the famous Burj Al Arab Hotel, and although I got a couple of decent pictures of the hotel, I actually found this place more interesting.
It is like an indoor souk, except the shops are more classy and expensive than the real souks, I don't believe I would go there to buy anything, but there is a lot of nice restaurants as well so....
Everything is built in the old Arabic style, complete with wind towers and all, although I believe they use air con's to cool it down instead:)
The light traces on the water is from small tourist boats (abra's I believe) that ferry people across and around the water.
My first picture with the new L lens!

Hello Harry,
Nice & very clean night photo. The lights from the slow exposure are great leading lines. Good reflections & starlight effect. Regards. Latiff.

Congrats on the new lens, Harry!
I'm not an expert on low-light and nigh shots, but this
one seems to be successful, especially with these two
unusual trails in red and blue.
And quite unusual post from Dubai, as well!
Cheers,
Robi

Hello Harry,
if this is your first picture with the new lens, then I look forward to see more and more! It's beautiful and what I like most is the sky not completely dark but very deep deep blue (at least on my monitor) which offers a great contrast and enhances even more the beautiful golden tone of the hotel. You've done a great job setting up your camera, with the right exposure and the beautiful result delivered. Colours are great, soft and not too saturated, with the light traces on the water adding interest to the compo. Very nice job and also thanks for the useful note!

Igor

Hi Harry,
A real nice night shot, with long exposure giving you these colored threads of the moving boats, a nice and silky water texture ( i m surprised no star effect on the lamp posts at f.11!) And the BG buildings look great with this nice glow.
Well done

HI Harry,
this is a perfect night shot.
perfect exposure at a fanatistic moment. i see what you mean about the darker scene. This lighting fits this scape, whereas newcastle is very bright down the river. *i prefer this one to mine any day :P and your new lens*
thanks for sharing
kind regards

Hello Harry,
An excellent night shot resulted from the long exposure, without any noise. The partially lit up sky permits a well defined skyline of the buildings.

Hello Harry
After sees your beautiful gallery, he chosen another night photography, (my big weakness and my very bad big shortcoming, soya).
Equal To That in the previous one, the definition and the colors son perfectly controlled.
It me is desirable also the effects that they believe them cheat the lights, (bundle).
perfect

Hello Harry
The light trails makes this really surreal! Excellent exposure in this night shot & the half a minute exposure creates a silky sheen on the water. Interesting are the reflections of the lights from the abras. Well done here!

Harry,
You have been MIA for a little while, I hope you enjoy your time, perhaps off from work and travelling somewhere for the Holidays. Well rested and now ready to emerge yourself in the daily grind of work. No New post from you :( I enjoy this shot as well, beautiful and good quality night shot, good composition and well choose speed. Very nice and sharp on the architectures and reflection with the motion blur is beautiful. The streak of neon lights from the boats are a bonus and that grab our attention and lead us in. Thanks.
Way
