Photographer's Note
During one of our strolls in old Istanbul, burGu and me were too cold and tired to continue, so we stopped to have something in a cafe, facing the glorious Suleymaniye Mosque.
The light was nice inside, with seemingly regular, but photographically colorful objects all around.
The man, sitting next to an open window was reading a newspaper. He was a good prey, and seemed not to pay any attention on me, therefore i took at least ten photos of him.
And i made a favour of the mirror next to him (you can see the "LOL version" of this photo in the WS).
...........
This one is for my dear friend Mali (TE member kagemusha), who is tired of the abundance of my B&W photos.

Ah Deniz - you spoilt the illusion. I was thinking the mirror was a doorway! Lovely calming light and warm colours. Plus the omnipresent portrait of Ataturk.
Fine job, Roberto

Selam sevgili Deniz,

Dear Deniz,
funny what you are saying about b/w...here it is from someone else but some times I do get tired of the abundance of my own b/w in rows:-). Then I post something with a little color and many tell me it should be in b/w:o)
I like this a lot. Daily scene that could not be more natural. He really was not looking at his customers at all! Lovely warm colors, his attitude, nice little place, plenty of the trade's details to be seen. Great sharpness. Like to see Atatürk hanging on the wall...Good work Deniz, it gives out a peaceful mood. The LOL ws is very funny. Read thoroughly the thread you sent to bwiti. You are far, but I give you a big hug. You are a great photographer and a great person.

Hello Deniz,
I enjoyed both of your today picture a lot! This old guy is just so natural. The colors and lights are very well balanced beetwen the natural and artificial light! Even the old Atatürk's portrait hanging on the mirror is fun!
Have a great day!

Hi, Deniz -
A lovely mood shot, and the WS is a nice twist. At first, I though the man in the background (top) was a live person descending a stair, but now I see it's a poster in the mirror. It adds something, even so.
Good use of lighting, too.

Dan

Helo, Deniz.
Great scene, great light...
But if I were you, I croped it more tight...
Without the part of buffet in the foreground...
More close...
Just fruits, picture on the wall (or not) and reading man.
But I am not you !!! :)))))))))))))))))))))
Best regards. Grazyna.

Mali gorunce cok sevinecek; cercevesiz, rengarenk, capcanli..
Opuyorum sevgiyle
Burcu :)

I observed the elements that you used in camera and I saw T1/10 and open F. I don't know what WB you had? I believe you have made very good picture calm. It is camera? perhaps or the artist spesialist?
Excellent shot! my dear Deniz!

I agree totally with Mali in the spirit of Osho - following idols misleads to mediocracy, sharing the truth, only to be found within you, is the path to real leadership. What once was B&W can only now grow out to imagine your world in full dimension colors thanks to technologie bringing image to higher level, can you imagine the possiblity of 3D ?
And I see with pleasure you are adding coloring moods as an extra palet of your world !
When I look in someones galery, I aways keep the question in mind, does it follows the TE-discipline, learning the world, where still the know-how of imaging stays pure in function. There where techniques starts to dominate, the looking into a scene becomes vague, the attention is distracted towards the man behind the camera and not the scene anymore. There where the photographer puts himself before his photo, we can't see the actual photo anymore, don't you think ?
So this photo is perfect fulfilling TE, it let us forget who was behind the camera to spot this newsreading man (not in the WS, there you get all the funny credits) in the enjoyable play of colored light and a guiding food-counter in perspective leading to the man.
A daily life scene in a eye-pleasing environment of light and colors, not seaking easy sensation but peacefully.
PS
A likewise mail resulted in "I am" :)
