Photographer's Note
Murat recently posted a view of the interior of this magnificent mosque which had this view obscured by a fake low ceiling due to current renovations. This is how it looked before. Utterly breathtaking. If you get the chance and it's not a Friday afternoon, the interior of the mosque is well worth seeing. Plastic bags are provided to carry your shoes or if they're a cheap pair you can leave them outside.

Hello Chris,
What an amazing view of all those domes here, both smaller and larger. The elaborate patterns are fantastic and I really like the several shades of blue mixed with some yellow and green hues. Very well done.

Hello Chris,
The patterns and colours of the tiles, as well as the shapes of the domes, are fantastic and explain why this mosque appeals so strongly to so many visitors. But I am just as impressed with the quality of this photo. It's amazing how you managed to capture this with such perfect exposure and sharpness of every detail.

Hi Chris,
An excellent view of the mosque interior, showing several domes and half-domes. The decoration is impressive - highly detailed but orderly, with subtle colours. The exposure is very good despite the difficult lighting with bright sunlight in the windows.

Photos weren't allowed inside when I visited in 1998 but I do remember the interior and this is a good photo of it. Good light management and detail.

Hello Chris, I really like this point of view where the interior of the dome is off centre in the composition. The decoration is amazing; you have managed to include so much.
Every time I see places like this, I am always in awe of the skill of the craftsmen.

Thinking about the shoes you touched the subject of their price: no risk with cheaper shoes to leave them outside... But I wonder if so many barefoot people walking the carpet are not sharing their germs with each other... So I am just saying there are other dangers of leaving shoes outside :)

Very good composition to present us the beautiful interior of the Sultan Ahmed Mosque.
I like this picture with its many curving lines of the arches and the domes very much.
Above all, we do indeed see a lot of blue here.
