During the month of April, I visited Turkey for the first time. The trip was rich in experiences, human contacts, sceneries and variety of food. I discovered a wonderful country where ancient, old and modern times are fused in a very interesting amalgam of textures.

Antalya located in the South coast of Turkey brought a very different flavor to the trip. It has all what is needed to make it a very appealing stop after a long visit to Istambul and Cappadocia : the smell of the Mediterranean sea, a scenic harbour with a beautifully restored citadel, a charming old town, a mild/languid climate and the impressive misty Taurus Mountains braking the skyline in the horizon. The town is surrounded by important ancient cities such as Perge, Aspendos, Phaselis and Termessos.

In the photo, an example of a quiet afternoon in the peaceful shady Karaalioglu Park where the Antolya’s inhabitants escape of the heat of the day during the summer time.
