A mix of the old and the new in Kayseri, central Turkey. The city's brandnew Italian designed tram (operating from the start of this month) passing along one of the town's Ottoman mosques, near Cumhuriyet Meydani (Square of the Republic).
Kayseri (approximately 1 million inhabitants) is one of those less known Turkish cities that play a key role in the country's economic upsurge of recent years. I was there more than 20 years ago for the last time and found it changed almost beyond recognition.
