Photographer's Note

Perşembe Yaylası, Aybastı ilçe merkezine 17 km. uzaklıktadır. İlkbaharda karların erimeye başlamasıyla hayatın ve canlılığın başladığı Perşembe Yaylası'nda mevsimin ilk karının yağmasına kadar hayat devam eder. Yeşil çimlerle kaplı olan yaylanın merkezinde şehir türü bir yapılanma vardır. Perşembe Yaylası'nda yerleşim ve yaşamanın, Türklerin Anadolu'ya ayak basmalarından bu yana devam ettiğini kabul edebiliriz. Çünkü, ünlü seyyah Evliya ÇELEBİ, seyahatnamesinde, Perşembe Yaylası'ndan ve Perşembe Panayırı'ndan bahsetmektedir. Yine, 1876 Trabzon Salnamesi'nde Perşembe Yaylası ve panayırından söz edilmektedir.
Bu yazılı kaynaklara dayanarak, perşembe Yaylası'nın çok eski bir yerleşim yeri olduğunu anlıyoruz. Yayla şenlikleri de insanların bu yaylaya yerleşmeleriyle birlikte Perşembe Panayırı olarak başlamıştır. O dönemlerde yurdun çeşitli yerlerinden gelen satıcıların eğlence araçlarının, çadır tiyatrolarının buluşup birleştiği muhteşem bir görünüm içerisinde başlayan ve bir hafta devam eden eğlence, alışveriş ağırlıklı bir şenlikmiş.
Bu şenliklerin en büyük ağırlığını, yağlı pehlivan güreşleri oluşturmaktadır. Geçmiş dönemlerde yaşayanların Perşembe Yaylası Panayırı hakkında anlattıkları bilgilere göre o dönemlerde panayıra yurdun çeşitli yörelerinden satıcılar, ip cambazları, sihirbazlar, sirk türü çadırlar, falcılar gelirler ve bir ay boyunca yaylada kalırlarmış. Başladığı günden bu yana Temmuz ayının son haftasında yapılma özelliğini yitirmeyen panayır, son haftada yağlı pehlivan güreşleri, at yarışları, insan yarışları gibi çeşitli sportif faaliyetlere devam edermiş. Yazılı kaynaklardan edinilen bilgiye göre; Perşembe Panayırı, Kırkpınar Şenliklerinden daha eski bir tarihe sahiptir. Ancak, bu zamana kadar tanıtımı yapılamadığı için gerekli yeri alamamış, Kıkpınar güreşlerinin rövanşının yapıldığı bir panayır olarak kalmıştır. Başladığı günden bu yana hiçbir kesintiye uğramadan devam eden Perşembe Panayırı'na Kırkpınar'da kispet giyen pehlivanların % 80'i (baş pehlivan dahil) katılmaktadır.
Perşembe yaylamıza Aybastı'dan ve Tokat tarafından ulaşım vardır. Konaklama olarak da yayla merkezinde otel mevcuttur. Perşembe Yaylası Şenlikleri her yıl Temmuz ayının 3. haftasında yapılmaktadır. 1 hafta süren şenliklerin asıl bölümü son gündür. Cumartesi gecesi genellikle Aybastı ilçe merkezinde şenlik ve konser olmakta, Pazar günü de yaylada aynı şekilde konser olmaktadır. Yine pazar günü yağlı güreşler de yapılmaktadır.
