Photographer's Note

Two pictures (one WS view due north-east) of the Yizre'el valley, from the Yokne'am mound.
Looking at this sight, POV due east, one can understand why the Megiddo mound and this mound were built in ancient time to gain control over the road from the coastal-plains to the east, towards the Jordan-valley and the road to the Arabian-peninsula.

The Megiddo-mound situated 11km approx. to the right side along the old "valley-road" in the foreground, now replaced by highway #66 seen further beyond.
On the far side is the rising of the "Moreh-hill" which is mentioned in the "Gideon book of Judges".
See a Wikipedia page about the Yizre'el valley.
