Photographer's Note
Every year on autumn, those big black Cormorants return to the same Eucalyptus tree (actually inhabit two trees), and stay until late winter.
I posted a picture a year ago on same location, see it on my "Birds-theme".
Weigh about 1.5-2.8Kg, it's wingspan from 121 to 160cm, and very impressive when fly over the Yarkon river in search for fish( hope to catch a photo when flying), with excelent diving preformance.
It's scientific name: Phalacrocorax carbo.
Wide distribution across the northern Hemisphere.

Hi Ike.
Good picture with this pair of cormorants, a very nice colorful image in which contrast the soft green leaves and beautiful blue sky through them.
Good brightness and sharpness.
Have a great evening, here in Madrid at home as it is snowing.
Best regards.

Hi Ike,
The branches are framing well the birds. The point of view is showing the details and colors of the black cormorants. The light seem to be strong causing less sharpness. Have a nice day, today in Pierrefonds max of 7C.

nice view of these birds and the eucalyptus tree too. light was very harsh. I liked the framing that put the birds in an apropriated position and shows the texture of the tree

Hello Ike!
Still strange for me to see eucalyptus trees in the Middle East, Europe and Vietnam. Good capture of these 2 cormorants. Good sharpness and the blue sky makes a nice backdrop. I wonder if local honey is made from the yellow gumnut blossoms of the eucalypts? Tfs!

Hello Ike,
Israel must be the only place where these black cormorants are seen perched on trees. Nowhere else have I seen them out of the water or away from rocks, except when they're flying, of course. 👍

Hello Ike,
This must be the first time that I have seen cormorants perched in a tree!
Usually, they can be seen on rocks or seaside features, with their wings spread, as if drying, but I have never seen them in a tree before!
You have managed to capture them with this interesting b/g of blue and greens, so unusual for a sea bird!
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Ike, these black cormorants are perched on eucalyptus branches where they can dry their feathers. They find fish in the Yarkon river. Thank you very much for these information about the aircraft name, its features and for the useful workshop. Fine colors, good sharpness, regards.
