Pied Kingfisher, a photo from Tel Aviv, Tel Aviv

Photographer's Note

Pied Kingfisher over the Yarkon-river in search for fish. From a distance, this little bird looks as a tiny "Zebra" with it's typical hovering fly over - than a sudden dive into water: An amazing sight - I could not catch on camera.
A post on TN , when cought it was coming-off from water . And another post when stood on a Eucalyptus tree .
It is a 3rd type of kingfisher's I spotted and posted picture's. ( seen on "Birds-theme"). It's scientific name: Ceryele Rudis.

Good morning Ike,
nice to can see someone the Pied Kingfisher,but without all these dead branches and poles.I know it's difficult to capture it on,only in one branch,and having a blurred background.

The branches are framing well the bird. The point of view is showing the details and colors of the Pied Kingfisher. The morning light has a good effect on the colors. Have a nice day.

An another excellent shot of a beautiful bird in your gallerey. The FG is particulary graphic, greet depht too with this Fg and the prospecty open to the well coloured BG. "Attitude" and details of the bird very well collected too.

dear Ike,
this B&W striped color of the kingfisher is very interesting and beautiful, it is unique different from usual blue one(common kingfisher),
maybe it is one kind of camouflage and protective coloration,
surely it looks aiming the fish on the brach now,
than you for your precious shot,

Hi Ike !
I am learning about new birds each time I come onto your gallery ! This picture was quite intriguing, as you couldn't see the bird on the thumbnail. It merges very well into the background made by the fence and the creeping branches. I like the way it makes itself discreet amongst non-bright colours like itself , camouflage as AKITA says?
