No.2 picture of the Common-Kingfisher, taken in the same environment, close to river's water surface, as the one posted on 03/09/10 , searching for fish.
The smallest type of the Kingfishr, 15 – 16cm length, 20gr+/- weight, wing-span of 23-25cm, and it's scientific name : "Alcedo Atthis
(Atthis = from Athens, Greece).

a beautiful shot of decisive moment of that aiming kingfisher,
its colorful figure on the blue river is well captured,
the reason why its color is blue and red is maybe this situation,
it looks mimic those water and grass there,

The reflections on the water are assets to the composition. The point of view is showing the details and colors of the kingfisher. The morning light is enhancing the colors. Have a nice day.

Superb bird! And superb shot of this bird.. I like the framing with the bird in the middle of the vegetation. Excellent balalnce in the composition with the bird well off-centred on the left and a large part resreved for the water.

Good use of a shallow dof to isolate and emphasise the colorful kingfisher. Nice reflected blue skylight in the water with perfect sharpness on the bird, which is well positioned at the vertical 1/3 axis at left. Tfs.
